10 Work-from-Home Motivation Tips

Author: Karen Beaman, Director Agent Acquisition and Onboarding

For some reason, people think that “working from home” is synonymous with “sitting around in pajamas” or doing laundry, washing dishes, exercising, taking care of personal errands and not really working. I can tell you, emphatically—it’s not! Working from home is work, just like people do in an office. I participate in meetings, talk frequently with my co-workers and consistently meet deadlines. I’m a solid, contributing member of the team…I just work in a home office.

It’s not easy, though. I’m not complaining but being productive when working from home takes some planning, preparation and self-motivation. It is easy to get distracted when there is more than the Internet to consume your attention. So, considering all the questions I’ve heard and experiences I’ve had, I wanted to share some tips on how to stay motivated when you work from home.

  1. Set a schedule. This is especially critical if you have a family whose schedules you are working “around.” Get up at the same time every day, start work at the same time and stop work (around) the same time.
  2. Get dressed. This one sounds simple and even silly, but getting dressed puts you in a different mindset. You’re not lazing around the house on the weekend—you are a productive member of the workforce.

More Time, More Money and Less Illness: The Many Benefits of Working from Home

Author: Lisa Lozeau, Acquisition and Onboarding Team

You’ve likely heard that work-from-home opportunities are great. And they are! I’ve been working from home for years and it has been wonderful for me and my family. Working from home makes it easier (though it’s never really easy) to balance your family, life and your work. The LiveOps Agent Services team did some research and we’ve come up with a list of the Top 10 Benefits of Working from Home:

1.    Enjoy schedule flexibility. Work from home opportunities, especially contract opportunities like being a LiveOps call center agent, tend to offer more flexible schedules. When you can set your hours, instead of being told when you are scheduled to work—it’s empowering. Being able to fit work in around your life instead of the other way around…you may not know what to expect from a less-stressed you!

2.    Gain back between 10-14 days of free time each year! That’s like getting an extra two weeks of vacation every year. Eliminating a commute can really make a difference in your free time—and your stress level. No need to leave early in the morning “just in case” you hit traffic or feeling your stress level rise as you sit in traffic and worry about that meeting you’re going to be late for. You can just walk into your home office and start your day.

"I am able to spend time with my husband who is retired from the military. I can take vacations any time of the year without asking for that time off. I can go spend time with my children, their school events, doctor appointments, sports, birthday parties, etc."

"I could rave and rave about LiveOps! Working for them allows me to remain a stay at home mom in this economy. If it weren’t for this opportunity, I'd be away from my children somewhere, working in an office, and they would be at a sitter after school. Thank You LiveOps!"
