As an Independent Contractor, you will:
- Be your own boss as a self-employed Independent Contractor
- Assist customers with selecting policies, providing quotes, and completing insurance applications
- Manage inbound calls from interested customers
- Use product knowledge to explain available insurance options
- Assess customer needs and offer effective, creative solutions
- Navigate specialized software to manage interactions efficiently
To qualify, applicants must hold active Life and Health licenses that meet one of the following criteria:
- Resident of Texas or Florida with active Life and Health licenses in your resident state.
- Resident of a Liveops-sourced state and hold both active Life and Health licenses for California.
- Hold active Life and Health licenses in your resident state and in two additional non-resident states.
Compensation:
- Submit invoices and receive payment for completed services.
- Compensation is based on productive time spent assisting customers plus an agent commission.
- As a self-employed 1099 Independent Contractor, you are responsible for paying your own taxes and expenses.
- Holding multiple state licenses may increase call volume and boost invoicing potential.
Hours:
- Choose your own schedule by self-scheduling in 30-minute blocks.
- Call volume generally comes in Monday – Friday from 8am to 10pm ET and Saturdays from 9am to 5pm ET.
Computer requirements:
- Provide your own equipment, including a Windows operating PC (Macs, Chromebooks, tablets are not supported)
- Wired internet connection
- Android or Apple Phone
- Some clients may require additional security measures and equipment
Application Process
To Become a Licensed Insurance IC, the following is required:
- To qualify, applicants must hold active Life and Health licenses that meet one of the following criteria:
- Resident of Texas or Florida with active Life and Health licenses in your resident state.
- Resident of a Liveops-sourced state and hold both active Life and Health licenses for California.
- Hold active Life and Health licenses in your resident state and in two additional non-resident states.
2. Complete the application, tech check, and onboarding:
- Sign an Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA).
- Pass an identity verification and background check.
- Set up direct deposit and log into your agent account.
Background Check Information
The background check requires a non-refundable $35 processing fee paid directly to the background check vendor.
3. Select a client program and complete the required certification (focused on systems, not sales training)

- Independent contractors have the responsibility to ensure their licenses remain active and up to date.
- Some client opportunities may have additional requirements, including expanded client-specific certification.
